Born and raised in New York City, Laura Dettmann has been in the graphics and photography field for most of her adult life. Having spent more than 12 years in the field of professional, custom black and white processing and printing, she left the photo field altogether for business management.

Photography, however, always remained a treasured personal interest. In these years Laura was able to develop her individuality and creativity on a personal level. After years in management, she decided to return to a much changed photo-finishing field. To keep up with the new and changing technology, she studied Adobe Photoshop. She learned the many facets of the program and fell in love with it as a creative outlet. More coursework followed as well as courses in Illustrator and web-design and a new form of creative expression was found.

And so, Freewheel Graphics was born of a combination of creative expression and an understanding of business and the needs of business owners.
